“We Have Decided Not To Die” is a highly unusual short by Australian filmmaker Daniel Askill. A kind of allegorical triptych that tells the story of three fundamental rituals that are portrayed in silent suspension: birth, death and rebirth. Visually this is an extraordinary film. Both austere and hard-hitting, it weaves its spell making use of a poetic and surreal idiom.
