The inspirational criteria behind the Alex Dragulescu projects can be described as information-visualization, a new science that studies possible
visual translations of data whatever their nature – scientific, statistical even economic. Easier to do than to describe: the results are really
exciting and it’s easy to forget all the data processing involved.
Spam-based architectures, one of their most interesting works, starts with a 3D modelling device such Maya and through a special script transforms
viruses and junk emails into stimulating solids and architectural constructions that are always unique.

And the point of all this? “We are trying to give meaning to the mass of information and data that surround us. Algorithms and databases are actively
modelling our coņsumer patterns, our social processes and in the final analysis our very reality. Visualizing data is the new vocabulary, the
communications protocol of a database society. Let’s never lose sight of the fact we are decidedly bored with more linear experiences of narrative
and visualization and we’re seeking more interative and open experiences” says Dragulescu
