Just one day to go before the CoSTUME NATIONALE Homme SS09 show in via Fusetti, Milan. Ennio is working on the collection’s final details, talking over with his assistants the clothing items to make and adapt. A laid-back atmosphere reigns – despite the boiling summer sun outside.

Time 11.00: The first models arrive for fitting. Daniel Peddle, EC’s casting director, says he is satisfied with the selection – it fully reflects Ennio’s collection – one of fluid items, soft cuts and special cybernetic touches.

Time 15.00 The shoes arrive and all need to be catalogued. ”There’ll be trouble for anyone who touches them!”
threatens Massimo. Ennio tries them out to check models and wearability. He
seems happy. He moves around the showroom garbed in black and white model
as studies on which matches are best for the outfits.

Time 16.30 Final music check with Michael Gaubert. Ennio listens to several
proposals before deciding on five tracks:

1 JOAKIM & DISCO / A NEW CAREER IN TOWN
2 SUSUMU YOKOTA / GOLDEN YEARS
3 METRONOMY / ON DANCEFLOORS
4 SUSUMU YOKOTA / GOLDEN YEARS
5 CARL CRAIG & ZOOS OF BERLIN / LOOKING FOR WATER

Time 17.00 He decides to change the colours of two items. White trousers turn flu-yellow while the spangled jackets takes on an electric-blue hue. We also monitor a series of special tasks – in the kitchen, trousers are being dyed while in the garden a jacket is being expertly spray-painted.

Time 17.30 The showroom is now filled up with young people .
At 17.30 it’s time for the final briefing with the dressers who tomorrow will be responsible tomorrow for dressing the models in line with the outfits Ennio has chosen. Viviana tells the kids what they should do and not do backstage tomorrow. One key warning: “Remember! After the model’s second appearance, don’t undress him as there’s the final parade! We certainly don’t want him out there in his jeans!”.

Fitting goes on till late. Ennio is accompanied by Dea, the designer’s dog.
